Both Hobby and Collector Divisions of Bandai Spirits decided to reveal new and upcoming products this week. The Hobby Division revealed their Q2 2025 products, which were unfortunately quite lackluster. So, I’m turning my attention to Tamashii Nations with their annual Tamashii Nation event and this particular figure caught my attention.

This is a figure of the RX-78F00/E Gundam currently erected at the Gundam Next Future Pavilion in Osaka as part of next year’s Expo 2025. Before anything else, you may have noticed that it looks different from the statue in Osaka as seen in the mockup model below.

And no, I’m not talking about the color applications but how the additional armor parts are placed asymmetrically. Well, after seeing this figure reveal, we now have an idea of either its original design or its final form.

For starters, the additional armor parts are complete, covering the lower legs units, the front “skirt” armor, and the shoulders. I’m not sure why the statue is designed as such, but there’s probably some in-universe story similar to the one for the moving Gundam in Yokohama.

Besides being able to replicate the pose of the statue at Gundam Next Future Pavilion, this is pretty much a standard Gundam figure, complete with its signature shield and beam rifle. Although as mentioned, it doesn’t come with beam sabers.

Besides this Robot Spirits figure, it was previously announced that Bandai Spirits will also release this design in Gunpla form, and that’s probably what I’ll get. Though I hope to build my copies of the “Moving Gundam” before this guy comes out as a model kit. Surprisingly, this figure will be sold in retail and not exclusive to Gundam Next Future Pavilion. I hope the model kit will be the same.
