About Damn Time! Marvel Legends Hulkbuster (Marvel 85 Years)

Hasbro has been doing an amazing job with their Marvel Legends Iron Man figures based on the comic book designs. So much so that I didn’t mind that we are getting around four in 2024 so far. Now make that five following the previous tease of a Hulkbuster armor and now, they have formally revealed it.

Outside of the MCU version of the Hulkbuster, I believe Hasbro has not attempted a modern version of the comic book design. If you mainly collect comic book versions of these characters, you can either stick with the old Toy Biz figure, or get the Marvel Select version which scales surprisingly well. That said, the original Toy Biz version is in much need of an upgrade and the Marvel Select version, while looking really good, can’t pose as much as you want to.

And pose it does, as you can see above. You can also see the good amount of sculpted detail on this figure, mostly on the gold parts on the forearms and shoulders. And while it doesn’t come with blast effects, as far as I know, if you’ve been collecting Iron Man figures, then I’m sure you have a good ton of those. And each foot has two ports for those blast effect parts for those in-flight poses.

While it doesn’t come with effect parts, the set does come with an unmasked Tony Stark head. One thing I’m curious is whether the head of the recent Modular Iron Man figure would be compatible on this body. To those unfamiliar, the Hulkbuster is one of the modules that can be added to the Modular armor so it would make sense if the head is compatible. But we’ll know once the figure is available.

And of course, we can’t talk about the Hulkbuster if we’re not going to mention anything about its size. Here’s the figure compared to a more standard 6-inch figure being the Modular Iron Man and a larger figure, Skaar. Hulkbuster stands at 9-inches so you’re really getting the value for a Deluxe release.

Marvel Legends Hulkbuster will be open for pre-orders later today, US time, it’s estimated to be at $59.99. In case you missed it, check out the official reveal via the clip below.
