I’ve still yet to receive my Transformers: Rise of the Beasts figures in the next couple of weeks. So, in the meantime, here are the Primes on the office desk.
For the last couple of months, I’ve been catching up on various Optimus Prime figures I’ve skipped, primarily due to my collecting shift from strictly Deluxe Class to Deluxe and Voyager Class figures. For Transformers: Prime, that meant I needed to get Beast Hunters/Transformers Go! version of Optimus Prime. This placed me in a situation where I have Hunter Optimus Prime and Optimus Exprime, and both are Voyager Class figures. However, my season one to two Prime Optimus Prime is the SDCC Exclusive Deluxe Class version. Which means, I have to break my personal Transformers collecting rule of not having the same version of the character, from the same line, in multiple size classes.
That said, Transformers: Prime – First Edition Voyager Class Optimus Prime is extremely hard to find at an acceptable price these days. Fortunately, APC Toys has been doing excellent quality knockoffs of the First Edition molds, so I managed to snag one despite not being the easiest figure to get either nowadays. I’m just waiting for the stickers I got from ToyHax (not sponsored) and I’m all set. Lastly, I just had the upscaled knockoff of the Thrilling 30 Legends Class Optimus Prime in the office and placed it there.
I’m not yet done with my Prime catchup purchases, but the last one I got should complete a Transformers ‘era’ in my collection.
