I am well aware that many are still gushing over the Gundam Wing 30th anniversary video that dropped a couple of weeks ago. But in case anyone forgets, Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS is also celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. And they do have several projects lined up as part of this celebration.

Chief among these is of course the special edition compilation Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS: Urdr-Hunt -Path of the Little Challenger-. I’m includng below the latest trailer released for this theatrical release.
Most of the footage here is familiar, especially if you played the game. But for the rest of those who didn’t, then here’s your chance to check out the story. I do hope it will get an international release. On a related note, I will be in Japan three weeks after the film’s release so I am contemplating if I’ll attempt to catch it there if it’s still showing by then, and with no English subtitles.
The same teaser also came with a quick stinger towards the end for a new short film “Wedge of Interposition.” While Urdr-Hunt takes place between seasons 1 and 2 of IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS, we’re still unsure where this short fits in. But judging by how this form of Gundam Barbatos looks, it might be around the same time.

The form definitely looks like a field repair, as seen with the still broken blade antenna coming from the Battle at Edmonton towards the end of season 1.

Unflattering animation stills aside, both the biceps and shins have new brown armor, along with what I believe are modified versions of the side waist boosters from the 6th form, but with added sword racks. I’m pretty sure we’ll get this thing as a Premium Bandai exclusive so I’ll just wait for the eventual announcement.
Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS: Urdr-Hunt -Path of the Little Challenger- and the “Wedge of Interposition” short film will drop in Japanese theaters on October 31, 2025. International releases are yet to be confirmed.
