Tamashii Nations has been doing quite the tease ever since announcing they’ll release an S.H.Figuarts SAM from Honkai: Star Rail and they’ve finally revealed that more information, possibly with solicitations, will drop on December 24. I guess that’s Tamashiii Nations’ gift that keeps on giving this Christmas. And while waiting for that info to drop, they released a couple more images of the anticipated figure.
Through the use of replacement and effect parts, you can recreate the Fyrefly Type-IV Heavy Assault Mech in either its basic form or its “awakened” form where cyan flames appear to be jetting out of the armor. The golden faceplate panels also open to reveal similarly colored details, which is likely via swapping head parts.
As expected from the S.H.Figuarts line, SAM is quite articulated and includes several accessories outside the effect parts. Based on the image above, SAM can wield a couple of bladed weapons, and I expect some more to be revealed once solicitations are up.
If you can’t tell, I’m not the most versed when it comes to Honkai: Star Rail, but I do appreciate a great design when I see one. In the meantime, you can check out this animated short featuring Firefly, entitled The Ambers of Glamoth.
