The Tetsujin 28 franchise has been getting merchandise attention recently. Good Smile Company released MODEROID versions while Sen-Ti-Nel is doing their high-end RIOBOT figures. As for me, I decided to stick with Action Toys and their Mini Gokin line, which is the closest we have to Tamashii Nations’ Super Robot Chogokin figures. For the longest time, they only had the Mini Gokin Tetsujin 28 from Shin Tetsujin 28 and I was wondering if we’ll get the other titular machines.

Well, if you’re like me and stuck with them, then you’re in luck as after three years, we now have confirmation of their next figure, that being Mini Gokin Tetsujin 28 FX and No. 17 Phoenix from Tetsujin 28 FX.

The set is actually comprised of two machines. First is the titular Tetsujin 28 FX who is the most modern-looking of all three Tetsujin 28 machines with its 90s design. As part of the Mini Gokin line, and despite the desktop-friendly size, it will feature a substantial amount of die-cast for that premium feel, along with great articulation to match the poses seen here, and from the 1993 anime series.

The other component of this set is 17 Phoenix which is like the various Scranders for Mazinger Z, which is basically a flight unit shaped like a phoenix.

Yeah, I can’t say anything more about this figure outside of the fact that I’m one step closer to completing my Tetsujin trifecta, with the original version left to get its Mini Gokin rendition. I just hope they won’t take another three years to release that figure.
