Every year is an anniversary, and 2024 is a special one for Transformers fans as it’s the 40th of the franchise. Besides the usual deluge of commemorative figures and merchandize, this year’s highlight is the release of “Transformers One,” arguably one of, if not the best film in the franchise. What started in 1984 as a simple good-versus-evil story meant to sell toys, has become a layered narrative, while still meant to sell toys, involving complex characters, deeper motivations, and repercussions of all their decisions.
