Besides the slew up upcoming kits from Bandai Spirits, the weekend also saw a couple of new trailers dropped. One is for Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, which is stirring quite the discussion for reasons, and the other is Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, which was previously titled as “Z of the Recapture.”
Let’s first look at the Gundam one.
Many are getting MS IGLOO vibes from the 2000s but these look objectively better with the use of Unreal Engine. And while many are praising how the Zaku looks, the Gundam design has received very mixed reactions. I do wonder if this is the actual intention given how the Gundam is the main antagonist here and is being portrayed as the white devil from Zeon’s perspective.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance is six episodes long and will be distributed internationally by Netflix. It’s scheduled to be released in 2024 though no specific dates have been mentioned.
Let’s then look at the latest trailer for Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, which is also part of ten-year plan for Code Geass content that started with Lelouch of the Re;surrection.
Here’s the story according to Crunchyroll:
The story follows two mercenary brothers from what was once Hokkaido in Year 7 of the Kowa era: Ash, the elder with high athletic and Knightmare piloting abilities, and Rozé, the younger with a knack for collecting intelligence and leadership, who embark on a quest to recapture Empress Sakuya from the clutches of the Neo Britannian Empire.
So, this takes place some years after Zero Requiem though I’m not sure if it follows the TV or the compilation movies plus Lelouch of the Re;surrection continuity, I’m inclined to assume the latter. We also have the Neo Britannian Empire which I’m also inclined to think to be a breakaway rogue faction from the Principality of Britannia who basically don’t like the current democracy.
We also got some fresh Knightmare Frames that I’m hoping to get HG kits.

I just took three from the official website, with the main unit being the dark-colored Zi-Apollo. There are a lot more revealed if you check out the site though most of them are a little out there, making me miss the ones from the original series.
Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture will be a series of four films which will start screening this May, with the following three being released a month after each other. Internationally, the films will be available in Disney+ as a 12-episode series, which I assume will follow after the Japanese screenings.
