Ever since Action Toys revealed gray prototypes of the Mini Action figures for both Voltron Lion and Vehicle Force, I’ve been eagerly anticipating their release, despite not having anything outside of those gray prototype images, last seen in a show earlier this year. We did see the ES Gokin versions get released so it’s more of a question of when. And it looks like we’re getting closer as Action Toys finally released solicitation images, as well as release information for this anticipated set, at least for me.
This guy needs no introduction, it’s Voltron Vehicle Force, or Dairugger XV, in all of its colored glory. Given how many figures of Voltron Lion Force are already in the market, I really appreciate Action Toys and their decision to release the supposedly less popular Voltron first.
Mini Action Voltron Vehicle Force looks really good! Not saying that it will be perfect based on my experience with their previous releases, but what Action Toys always get with the Mini Action figures are the overall visuals and proportions. And this guy is no exception.
You also have to give Action Toys credit for being able to produce an articulated Voltron Vehicle Force figure despite the smaller scale, and the fact that it’s made up of fifteen individual components. With most figures in the line, they usually skimp out on the accessories and just include the very essential ones, which is fine by me. For Voltron Vehicle Force, it seems to include detachable Spinning Laser Blades that appear to be attached to replacement hand parts meant to hold them. And of course, if you combine the Spinning Laser Blades, you get the Blazing Sword, and the set appears to also include sword-holding hands.
Another key feature of this set is the ability to combine the fifteen vehicles into a super vehicle, one per team.
Mini Action Voltron Vehicle Force is slated for a Q1 2024 release, but it will be available earlier as part of Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong (ACGHK) 2023 from July 28 to August 1. This version will come with chrome-plated Spinning Laser Blades and Blazing Sword.
