The following will contain spoilers for episode 19 of Gundam the Witch from Mercury.

The latest episode of Gundam the Witch from Mercury has dropped and we’re starting to see the ends that Prospera Mercury is willing to go just to get her plans into motion, and Suletta Mercury’s realization why Aerial pusher her away, and hopefully shines a different light to the machinations her mother is doing and involved in. I won’t go beat-by-beat into the details of this episode, but I do want to highlight some plot points that were revealed towards the end.
Most notable is the connection between the Space Assembly League and Ochs Earth. You read that right, the organization we thought has been long dead following the Vanadis Incident in the PROLOGUE episode is back and is running from the shadows by the Space Assembly League. I still don’t have a complete picture of how the Space Assembly League is structured, but I’m inclined to think they’re the formal governing body for the Spacians and they don’t like how the Benerit Group is in major control of Spacian affairs. And now that they’re seemingly running Ochs Earth, it gives us a better picture of their end goal, the destabilization of the Benerit Group.
We also get the confirmation that Shaddiq is essentially funding the Dawn of Fold, and I’m inclined to think he’s part of this renewed Ochs Earth plot. If he wins the election in the Benerit Group, he’ll have total control and will allow the Space Assembly League to have more influence.

This is something that Prospera Mercury opposes, as seen with her destroying all those Gundam Lfrith Pre-Production Model units (HG kits when??), a couple of which were turned into the Lfrith Ur and Lfrith Thorn. Prospera isn’t exactly aligning with the Benerit Group, but she does need them to carry Quiet Zero into completion. I assume once it’s complete, she won’t care if both parties go into a full-scale conflict.

On that note, I’m on two opinions on how this gets resolved. We still have around 4 or 5 episodes, and with the way the series is paced, they can definitely wrap up the story in those remaining episodes. My other opinion is that the world they’ve built is too rich for storytelling potential that it would be a waste if we don’t get a season or two more if ever, they decided to go the escalated conflict route. Especially with the next episode title being “End of Hope” so I’m eager to watch what direction they’ll take the series into.
