Hiya Toys’ has recently posted solicitations for four new items, and for the love of my finances, I have placed pre-orders for all four of them. Fortunately, these figures are being released far enough I can plan my finances. They may not be S.H.Figuarts expensive, but they’re still not the cheapest either.

This time, we’re taking a look at the third Exquisite Basic figure from Rockman X or Megaman X as follow up to their Rockman X and Zero releases, the Exquisite Basic Rockman X Falcon Armor.

In contrast to the mainly blue design of the original armor configuration, the Falcon Armor adds a lot more white with yellow highlights. True to its name, the Falcon Armor not only sports different colors, but the design is also more streamlined and aerodynamic for maximum aerial maneuverability. It also has a bird-like visage on the chest armor so that’s a giveaway.
I have yet to see how this guy is going to articulate, or whether the large leg units would be an issue for those very dynamic poses. But at least they should provide a stable base for ground poses. On that note, the figure comes with several accessories to provide more display options.

For starters, we have the hilt for the Z-Saber and a couple of beam effect parts, one of which is molded in a mid-strike curve.

And of course, it won’t be a Rockman X figure without its signature weapon, the X-Buster, which is a whole right forearm unit replacement part. It features an LED light up gimmick activated by magnets, which is the Hiya Toys badge that comes with this set. Each tap would activate a different light up pattern for the X-Buster – flash, pulsating, and steady.
Speaking of magnets, each sole also have one that let’s you stick the figure on metal surfaces for better stability in poses.

Besides the aforementioned accessories, the set also includes three replacement face plates with different expressions and a display stand.

Again, I’ve yet to experience any of Hiya Toys’ offerings, but based on the positive reviews I’ve seen of their previous releases, I’d say that pulling the trigger on the solicitations are worth it. Though these figures are starting to creep up in prices. Not sure if it’s licensing or just the worsening economy in general, but as long as they remain below the prices S.H.Figuarts or Figma figures retail, then Hiya Toys will definitely be on its way on placing its foothold on the collector-oriented action figure market.
