“Superior” Means Evil in Marvel: Marvel Legends Superior Iron Man (Model 50) Revealed

If you’re a hero in the Marvel universe and you’ve been given the “superior” tagline, then start thinking of your life choices since you are in a trajectory to becoming evil!

Not too long ago, Marvel Collectors have been inundated with tons of Iron Man figures, so much so that they were expecting one in every wave. Nowadays, things have much calmed down and at the same time, Hasbro has been doing a great job in releasing comic book armor designs that started with the 80th anniversary Iron Man. There are still a lot more designs needing figures but one of the more memorable ones was when Tony Stark flipped the needle and became a real jerk.

The stories were encapsulated with the run of Superior Iron Man and Tony primarily uses the Model 50 armor, dubbed “Endo-Syn.”

In a stark (pun not intended) contrast to his flashy red and gold armors, the Model 50 is primarily silver or white with Repulsor energy lines running throughout. And as announced in a recent Hasbro live stream, we are getting this guy as a Marvel Legends figure.

If you’ve been collecting the surplus of Iron Man figures Hasbro has released, then you have no business not knowing what to expect with this one. For starters, I wanted to say these are completely new parts but the knee joints still use pins, meaning it’s probably from an older mold.

Second is how they chose to go with the silver or white areas, clearly going white based on these images, although the folks over at Hasbro mention that this is pearlescent white. If you look at some of the comic book illustrations I’ve placed above, they look more metallic bluish silver than actual white so I’m curious why they went with this. Probably saving costs.

Speaking of saving costs, it comes with minimal accessories, including pairs of open palm hands, Repulsor effect parts and an unmasked Tony Stark head. It’s not completely unmasked as parts of the armor are still on besides the front and top of the head.

It also doesn’t come with a build-a-figure piece so I can imagine collectors skipping this guy. But I’ll likely get one because it’s Iron Man.
