If any of you are following me on socials, you must be aware that between Star Wars and Star Trek, I’m more of a Star Trek fan. But as a mecha and robot collector, I do acknowledge that Star Wars has a cornucopia of droids, and I was exposed to them while watching the prequel trilogy. So far, we’ve seen the B1 Battle Droid in several figure lines which is good, though there are couple more battle droid models that I wish would have 6-inch figures.

Fortunately, it seems Hasbro is starting to finally delve into those as their recent Black Series reveals focused on the prequel trilogy. One of the revealed sets is the two-pack of C-3PO on a B1 Battle Droid body and the Super Battle Droid, both of which were seen in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

This two-pack comes in windowed packaging, much to the delight of collectors though it appears barebones in terms of accessories as outside of both C-3PO and the Super Battle Droid, the set only comes with a blaster for the former.

I’ll only look at the Super Battle Droid figure as it’s the one I’m really interested in, and it looks fine for a Black Series release. I’m not expecting the greatest articulation due to its design but I’m expecting to put it in the poses seen from the movie, which is just pointing its arms forward and shooting stuff. To make the figure less bland, they placed dirt and scuff marks all over its body, though I might just remove them as I prefer my droids clean.
I know many would want to buy multiples and army-build the Super Battle Droid. But given that this is a two-pack, you’ll be getting a lot of C-3POs in transplanted droid bodies as well. I’m hoping Hasbro will release it in singles buy I’ll probably get this two-pack as I won’t be army-building.
