As a collector of 1/12 scale Iron Man figures, I haven’t paid much attention to Mezco Toyz’ One:12 Collective line—and for good reason. Unlike Hot Toys, which eagerly releases numerous Iron Man color variants and retools, Mezco Toyz takes a more reserved approach, having only released three figures since the line started. Their most recent Iron Man figure, the One:12 Collective Iron Man Model 8 “Silver Centurion,” was released six years after their classic Iron Man (and its mandatory stealth variant) launched in 2018. Given Silver Centurion’s popularity as a comic book design, its inclusion in the lineup makes perfect sense.

While Silver Centurion is technically a retool of Mezco Toyz’ 2018 Iron Man mold, most of its armor—aside from the silver arm and leg pieces—is entirely new. As with other figures in the One:12 Collective line, some liberties were taken with the design, but they are largely limited to intricate details on the armor panels. Interestingly, the helmet piece remains untouched by these nuances, opting instead for a more faithful comic book-accurate sculpt. Articulation remains similar to the 2018 figure, with only minor tweaks to accommodate the new armor shapes. The most significant differences lie in the accessories: Silver Centurion comes with an unmasked Tony Stark head and several effect parts for his pulse blasts and unibeam. The latter even looks more striking when paired with the light-up feature of the Arc Reactor.
