Of the original seven MCU Iron Man armors that appeared between Iron Man 1 and The Avengers, I’m inclined to believe Iron Man Mark 4 is probably the least notable. Plot-wise, it’s a “transitionary” suit between the Mark 3 from the previous film and the Mark 6 used in the climactic battle. It’s also not as cool as the Mark 5 or the “suitcase armor” for its portability. However, it is the suit Tony Stark was using when he found out he’s slowly being poisoned by the palladium core in his original Arc Reactor, which led to some unique shenanigans in the film. And this is where Tamashii Nations rightfully focused with this figure.
Long time collectors of S.H.Figuarts Iron Man figures should be familiar of what to expect with the Mark 4. A great-looking figure with film-accurate sculpt and paint work, excellent articulation thanks to the system of joints expected from an S.H.Figuarts release, and your standard set of Iron Man accessories. Except that the standard set comes with a couple unique to the Mark 4. There’s the unmasked Tony Stark head sculpt with two optional face parts, a regular one and another with sunglasses. You then use the latter with the included box of donuts to replicate the scene of Tony Stark gallivanting around town while inside the Mark 4 armor.
