|Initially released as part of the first wave Optimus Prime VS. Megatron set, both faction leaders are now getting individual releases with a few changes.
This version of Construct-Bots Optimus Prime includes a different head unit that has the traditional head vents much closer to the G1 animation model. It also has recolored limb and skeleton pieces, with the latter sporting that "All-Spark" blue. The set will also have fewer weapons and only includes a single rifle, bringing the total number of pieces down to 51 from the 67 before.
The most notable change, however, is the use of translucent plastic for all the red pieces which will create a sort of visual effect when combined with the light blue internal skeleton. But then again, combining pieces from the two versions is probably the best way to go for this Optimus Prime.
|After initially taking design cues from Lego with the Kreo line, Hasbro is taking more design cues from the Danish company with this new offering of the Transformers brand.
Transformers Construct-Bots combines the play value offered by building block sets with those of action figures by allowing parts to be swapped between multiple sets for customization. If this sounds (or looks) familiar, it’s because this is the same concept of the Lego HeroFactory line of action figure-based building block sets.
Much like the mainline figures, these will come in different size assortments with corresponding price points ranging from $9.99 to $34.99.
