#3017: ROBOT DAMASHII <Side FFN> | FAFNER MARK SEIN
For the most part, Fafner designs have been essentially the same regardless of the model, with only color variations and new/extra parts added in for further differentiation. Bandai capitalized on this as it allowed the company to release multiple figures without having producing completely new molds for each, saving them costs. And as far as saving is concerned, one of the most cost-effective of these figures is Fafner Mark Sein. For starters, it entirely white with gunmetal gray for joints/pylons and a metallic green visor. It doesn’t have other additional parts except for a single rear binder. To compensate, Bandai included quite a number of accessories and effect parts. But before getting there, Bandai made a much appreciated improvement to the original mold. Remember how the initial Fafner figures had finicky wrist assemblies that replacing manipulators became a chore? Fafner Mark Sein did away with those and instead had fixed stem ball joints. These provided the same articulation and movement without the hassles that the former had. Onto the aforementioned accessories, Fafner Mark Sein only had two weapons — the Garm .44 automatic rifle and a couple of Ruga Lances. However, Bandai included parts to convert both Ruga Lances into their various configurations, as well as included effect parts for its energy attack. The set also included five crystalline effect parts that can be used to replace the manipulators and directly attach to the weapons for replicating the assimilation scenes in the series.
