#1011: TRANSFORMERS HUNT FOR THE DECEPTICONS | BATTLE BLADES OPTIMUS PRIME
PROFILE (ROBOT MODE)
PROFILE (ALTERNATE MODE)
Hasbro launched the 2010 TRANSFORMERS Hunt For The Decepticons sub-line with the intention of further expanding the live-action movie figure coverage by including both movie and non-movie characters that can be easily served as tie-ins to the then recently concluded TRANSFORMERS Revenge of the Fallen line. And while many expected the sub-line to include mostly repaints / redecos of previous releases, new molds were also introduced — one being Battle Blades Optimus Prime. The figure is essentially a down-scaled version of the Leader Class mold from Revenge of the Fallen and is more movie-accurate than earlier Voyager Class iterations of the character. It is also the first movie Optimus Prime figure to include a removable Matrix of Leadership as seen in the aforementioned feature film. Its main weapons include two Energon Swords (thus the name Battle Blades) that are made of soft plastic, similar to the Leader Class variant, and two rifles that turn into fuel tanks in alternate mode.
