BLOG: 1/1 Unicorn Gundam & The Gundam Base Tokyo

1/1 Unicorn Gundam & The Gundam Base Tokyo - Autumn 2017 The 1/1 RX-78-2 Gundam was first erected in 2009 as part of the Gundam 30th Anniversary celebration. It has transferred to a couple of places until in 2012 where it remained in Diver City, Odaiba. That is until today, March 5, as the tourist attraction is finally taken down permanently. The Gundam Front Tokyo exhibit will close a month after.

In autumn, a new life sized mobile suit will take its place — the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam. Its mostly white color scheme will lend better to those projection displays that the attraction was known for. The indoor exhibit will also be replaced by The Gundam Base Tokyo during summer and will be billed as the largest Gundam facility in Japan. Similar facilities already exist in South Korea back in 2003 and Taiwan in 2005, acting as the largest Gundam hub for both countries.
