BLOG: Today’s Robits – Third Quarter 2016 (Part 1)
|This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this
Today’s Robits is supposed to be a monthly post featurette but personal shenanigans happened and it became quarterly, at least for this period. These pictures were also shot for quite a while now (hence this build) but wasn’t able to edit them until now. So yeah.
Anyway, the release of the RG 00 Qan[T] also meant Bandai reissuing some High Grade GUNDAM 00 kits. Which adds more to the bunch of Gundam 00 kits already in the backlog. That said, these purchases aren’t just random ones as seen after the jump.
|As mentioned, these aren’t random purchases as these are kits of mobile suits piloted by Tieria Arde. Granted they’re not lead nor titular Gundams nor they belong to the Gray’s Gundams.
They do have that Nu Gundam / Gundam Double X black-yellow-white color scheme which is also appealing to this collector. The same color scheme has also become the de facto default of heavy artillery Gundams like the Gundam AGE-3 Fortress.
Aside from touching up missing details, the only repaints needed will be for those dark blue-green parts on the HG Seravee Gundam and make them black as well.
|Going past the Gundam 00 stuff, the next pair of kits are probably the most this collector is looking forward to during their release.
The original plan for the HGCE Force Impulse Gundam was just to get one copy and just deal with the partsforming shield. However, some more thinking eventually led to the decision to get another copy just to make away with the shield transformation altogether. Yeah, most parts on the second copy won’t be in use but whatever. Then there’s the HG Gundam Local Type which has piqued the interest of this collector quite a lot. After all, both the Gundam Ground Type and Gundam Ez8 HGUC kits were already done.
|Being the first of two parts, this batch of robits will be capped with three smaller kits.
Decided to skip the HGBC Lightning Back Weapon System Mk-II when it first appeared in Gundam Build Fighters Try with the intent of eventually getting it after the series ended. Well that intent was forgotten and it took two or so years before it was finally purchased.
And a couple more Petit’gguy kits wouldn’t hurt, right?
