BLOG: Today’s Robits – Late 2015 Catch Up (Part 2)

Today's Robits - Late 2015 Catch Up (Part 2) This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

So before the year actually ends, here’s the second part of the late 2015 robit catch up. Starting off is Voltes V which is a pop culture thing in the Philippines due to its broadcast cancellation in the 70s. And this is probably the best representation of that machine that Bandai has released by far. Now the decision to get this Hulkbuster has been tough to make since until now, the larger Iron Man figures have been purchased in the 3.75" scale. But they’re mostly antagonist units so the larger ones will be limited to the Hulkbuster and its variants.

  • MARVEL SELECT | IRON MAN HULKBUSTER

Today's Robits - Late 2015 Catch Up (Part 2) The next three items were all tracked from Mandrake, because it’s a treasure trove of previously released stuff that’s hard to come by nowadays. Which is exactly the case of the old HG Providence Gundam. Yes, there are copies of the remaster version out there but this one better matches the colors of another old kit still being tracked, the HG Legend Gundam.

Also got a couple of Hobby Japan custom kits — the old HG Gundam SEED set specifically for use of the Providence while the other is for the newer HGCE Freedom Gundam to do this particular build.

Today's Robits - Late 2015 Catch Up (Part 2) Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS has been on the air for a while now but still haven’t built any kit from GUNDAM Reconguista in G, including the one here.

So that’s like five kits for G-Reco — three Gundam G-Self variants, an accessory kit, and the Gaeon — but again, not built any single one kit. This is because there are currently have three kits planned in the pipeline, including the Cathedral Gundam and turning it into like what’s seen in this comparative color study posted before. OH and there’s Gundam Astray Red Frame which no doubt will look awesome as a Real Grade.

  • HGBF 1/144 | NK-13 CATHEDRAL GUNDAM
  • HG 1/144 | YG-111+BPMF-01 GUNDAM G-SELF [PERFECT PACK]
  • RG 1/144 | MBF-P02 GUNDAM ASTRAY RED FRAME
Today's Robits - Late 2015 Catch Up (Part 2) Speaking of kits in the pipeline, here’s the one on the top of the list. Unlike the previous series, everyone is totally digging what the staff has been doing with Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS and that makes building this kit an even better experience.

At the moment, Gundam Barbatos has undergone four forms, well technically more of shoulder armor and forearm weapon changes. The kit allows to build the first and fourth forms via parts swapping. Also wanted to build the second and third forms but that would require getting the shoulder and forearm parts from the Graze and Schwalbe Graze kits respectively. Really don’t want to get those kits just for parts, oh well.

  • HG IBA 1/144 | MOBILE SUIT OPTION SET 1 & CGS MOBILE WORKER
Today's Robits - Late 2015 Catch Up (Part 2) Just to shake things up, capping the batch this time is a book… along with some third-party stuff from various franchises.

This is the third Gundam Exia conversion kit, following the Bandai’s Exia Repair and Gundam Astraea releases. And this also makes three additional RG Gundam Exia kits to be purchased. Continuing the third-party train is Salvia Prominion (Solus Prime) which retroactively expands the Transformers (#1000) collection definition to Primes outside of Optimus Prime. Finally is the second volume of the ULTRAMAN graphic novel, still haven’t read that though.

  • REFORMATTED | SALVIA PROMINION
    (SOLUS PRIME)
  • Full Plan Model RG GUNDAM EXIA REPAIR III CONVERSION KIT
  • ULTRAMAN Vol.2
