BLOG: Plastic Crack – The Reverse Wash Technique

This is Plastic Crack – posts, usually of video reviews tutorials, that continuously stimulate the collector passion through demonstration of a figure’s features… techniques.

Still ain’t a review but a tutorial for a very handy modeling technique — The Reverse Wash Technique. Very useful in pieces where raised areas are needed to be in different color than the recessed ones, the latter typically in black. Examples include the ornamented chest/sleeve parts of the Sinanju, or single-piece missile pod parts that are common in High Grades.

The technique mainly relies on enamel paint applied on top of the accent color via airbrush. Since this collector doesn’t have an airbrush, an enamel-based spray paint is the next-best thing. And now, the search begins for such paint.
