BLOG: Today’s Robits – Late 2015 Catch Up (Part 1)
|This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.
It’s been a long while (i.e. August) since the last post about new robits thanks to personal shenanigans and a couple of overseas travels. So much so that some of the items here aren’t that new anymore but regardless, here’s a catch up for those purchases.
Starting things off are these foursome cute-some, no explanations needed.
|The following two kits are considered to be the current bookend of the HGBF line, starting with the Build Strike Gundam Full Package. Yes, it took two seasons and a multitude of other kits in the line before actually getting this guy. This is in no thanks to the Build Booster which requires quite the work to make it color accurate.
On the other hand is Lightning Zeta Gundam, one of the latest releases in the line and appeared in a single episode of Gundam Build Fighters Try, at least before the OVAs show up. Speculation is still in up the air whether this is the basis for a supposed ‘Revive’ HGUC Zeta Gundam kit but regardless, the kit itself on its own is great.
|The next couple of kits are still part of the HGBF line and undeniably, two of the more popular ones. The first one is a no-brainer since everyone’s crazy over anything from Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam despite having no official translated media and whatnot — because pirates. And it seems even the guys at Sunrise knows this given how the Crossbone Gundam X1 Full Cloth was hyped so much.
Following it is undeniably (ahaha… haha… ha~) one of the best looking designs from Gundam Build Fighters Try. Was actually planning on building it immediately when it arrived. So yeah, at the moment it’s second in the current build schedule.
|Now these two are a couple of steps back from Bandai’s current Gunpla offerings as both comes from the High Grade GUNDAM AGE line. Kits from this line are harder to come by nowadays thanks to their age (ahaha… haha… ha~) and how Mobile Suit Gundam AGE was received as a series overall.
Both kits were purchased from Mandarake as other shops, both retail and online, don’t carry them anymore. As of this post, two more kits are to be purchased — another HG Gundam AGE-2 Normal, and HG Gundam AGE-2 Double Bullet. The reason will be revealed once the actual build project starts.
|This batch has primarily been Gunpla-centric and as such will be capped off by another kit… and a Tamashii Nations figure. HAHAHA.
Designs from GUNDAM Reconguista in G have been hit or miss, but the Gaeon is definitely a hit despite not being an officially designated Gundam. It also falls into the Gray’s Gundams ‘category’ that the upcoming HG Gundam Kimaris will likely belong to as well.
Lastly is Villkiss from CROSS ANGE Rondo of Dragons and Angels which is quite an expensive figure, though it does have the special gimmick of transformation. Not really sure how this is accomplished since the figure is still mint in its box as of this post.
