BLOG: AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2015 – Comicave Studios
|AsiaPOP Comicon Manila aims to bring the experience of major pop culture conventions to the Philippine scene. It’s being held from Sept. 17-20, 2015 at World Trade Center Metro Manila.
So this is the first outing of AsiaPOP Comicon Manila and while there are certain aspects that need polishing (i.e. the dealer room, or lack thereof), the convention overall is up there compared to other similarly themed local events.
Comicave Studios had quite the presence at their booth and displayed both 1/4 and 1/12 scale offerings. One of which is the recently announced Igor from Iron Man 3. Not really sure how its poseability will be but for accessories, it will include replacement manipulators.
|Now just prior to this one is a post sort of describing this collector’s dilemma on which Hulkbuster figure to get, well more of how to get it. Two options were presented there, one being the Chogokin x S.H.Figuarts and the other being the Marvel Legends Infinite Series version.
Here’s another one to add to the mix as Comicave Studios has on display their own rendition of the famous suit from AVENGERS Age of Ultron. Immediately noticeable in this shot is that unlike the two aforementioned versions, this one has an opening canopy revealing the Mark 43 head inside along with some internal details.
It’s also more likely that some local specialty shops will carry this guy than the Tamashii Nations offering so yeah, fingers crossed.
|When Comicave Studios saved the Iron Man license from Play Imaginative, the first figure they’ve released is the 1/12 Shotgun armor. This collector is still waiting for his copy to arrive but those curious can already check unboxings and/or reviews online.
With many of these "Iron Legion" suits sharing components with each other, Comicave Studios is also set to release Shotgun’s variant, or rather the other way around as Iron Man Mark 23 "Shades" actually comes first fiction-wise.
While the actual armors themselves (if they existed) differ in a lot of ways, the two figures here differ only in paint as Shades uses a desert camouflage scheme.
