BLOG: Plastic Crack – "Fixed Perspective Size Comparisons"
Now this will be a little different from previous Plastic Crack posts. Instead of a full video, here’s a screen capture from Diego Doom’s review of the ULTRA-ACT x S.H.Figuarts Ultraman figure and one of the nifty things he’s done recently is to put size comparisons in them. What’s great about these size comparisons is that they’re taken at a fixed perspective relative only to the figure being reviewed, presenting a great sense of scale across the other figures being compared. Did a little image stitching using a couple of screen captures and came up with this.
Now the main point of contention here isn’t actually with Ultraman but with Sen-Ti-Nel’s METAMOR-FORCE Gaiking the Knight. Was on the fence on whether to get this guy or not for the longest time with size being the main deciding factor. Based on head height and excluding those golden horns, Gaiking the Knight is as tall as Ultraman and shorter than Super Robot Chogokin Mazinkaiser SKL and S.H.MonsterArts MFS-3 Kiryu/MechaGodzilla. This puts the figure well within the height criteria of the CATALOGUE. Here’s hoping that it’s still available by September because this month has been loaded with quite a few purchases.
