BLOG: Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS – Upcoming Gunpla

Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS - Gunpla Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS is out in the open including the story, characters, and mobile suits. But everybody knows that a major part of every Gundam show is the merchandise and most of that merchandise are Gunpla. The question now is, what’s new?

According to the press release, the Gundam Barbados would ‘evolve’ by acquiring parts and weapons from the mobile suits it defeats. This translates to the High Grade kits being cross-compatible with others in the line, similar to how the HGBF and HGBC kits are. Now that’s a good way of integrating kit gimmicks to the story.

Random Thought: Kinda want to get an HG Gundam Legilis now thanks to the similar design cues with Gundam Barbatos.

Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS - Gunpla Now here’s a welcome surprise. Up until Gundam 00, Bandai has been releasing ungraded 1/100 kits along the 1/144 High Grades. When Gundam AGE went on air, they instead did the gimmick based Gaging Builders line which is essentially a 1/100 model kit/toy, though Master Grades were also released to an extent. Then Bandai just forgot the 1/100 scale with G-Reco with no Master Grades in sight.

So yeah, 1/100 kits are returning for this series. What’s different is that these will have functional internal frames (also part of the story) though they’re not branded as Master Grades. Was hoping that Bandai places these ‘no grades’ under the RE/100 line but let’s see.
