BLOG: Zoids Masterpiece MPZ-01 Shield Liger – Promotional Video

Takara Tomy has just released a new promotional video for their upcoming MPZ-01 Shield Liger fiugre as the first release in the new Zoids Masterpiece line.

The main gimmick for Shield Liger here is that it’s actually motorized, just like the old Zoids toys back in the day. However, this isn’t the same clunky toys back in the day. The included motor allows subtle tail and rear movement, walking action, and head movement that includes opening the mouth. Each movement is also accompanied by lights and sound to give it more realism.

The set is at 1/72 scale, and is perfect with Kotobukiya’s HMM line of Zoids model kits.

  1. WHOA!!! That is so COOL!!! Now if they could just make it bigger and pilotable, I would be beyond ecstatic! Are there any other new models of the original Zoids coming out in the near future?

  2. Well if this first one sells well, then expect more of these Zoids Masterpiece figures to be made. A Blade Liger would definitely be cool!

  3. That would be GREAT…!!! But can they make the life-sized pilotable versions someday? I REALLY want one of those!

  4. Well they are trying to get the 1/1 Gundam in Tokyo to move by 2019. So… sort of?

  5. *Sigh* I guess I will just have to wait, then. See you on the battlefield!
