BLOG: Today’s Robits – February 2015 (Late Post!)
|This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about
February was a plamo-centric month of acquisitions as the robits that arrived were, you’ve guessed it, model kits.
When Bandai released the 1/48 Ingram kit for The Next Generation —PATLABOR—, they also reissued all the past Patlabor model kits. These included the Master Grades and the 1/60 scale ones. The smaller scaled kits were different that these employed an inner skeleton for the major joints that are enclosed in a rubber-like material to replicate the original design.
|It took a while but kits from Gundam Build Fighters Try have finally showed up, primarily those from Team Try Fighters.
As many know by now, the Build Burning Gundam has two operating ‘modes’ and this kits requires little disassembly and replace the clear parts to switch between modes. Not really a fan of such parts-swapping so another copy of the kit will probably be purchased.
And while not the lead mobile suit, the Lightning Gundam very much falls into what this site calls as the "Gray’s Gundams" category.
|So aside from the Crossbone Gundam X1 and the Space Backpack, the kit to take note of here is the Fujin, a Sonic Diver from Sky Girls.
Fujin is part of Kotobukiya’s Mode Lock line of simple kits assembled through the use of multiple ball-and-socket joints. On that note, also assembled another Mode Lock kit two years ago, Imber, from iDOLM@STER Xenoglossia. Broke three ball joints during that assembly and wouldn’t want to repeat the same with this kit.
Finally, got two copies of the HGUC RX-78NT-1 Gundam NT-1 to replace those currently at the CATALOGUE, they looked lazy.
