BLOG: Today’s Robits – July 2014
|This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.
Okay, while this month’s loot won’t have any books, it will have third-party Transformers. Yes, this collector hasn’t purchased an unlicensed Transformer figure/add-on kit until today, though this might just be the push that will lead to that rabbit hole.
It was also recommended that MakeToys’ Battle Tanker would work best with Takara Tomy’s version of Reveal The Shield Optimus Prime (#1004) — Laser Optimus Prime — thus the subsequent purchase.
|Going back to licensed stuff are these two High Grades. Outside of this guy (which is now out of hand), the Crossbone Gundam Maoh is technically the first HGBF kit for the CATALOGUE and is mainly because of its attachment to the Crossbone Gundam. Still hemming and hawing whether to retain its gray color scheme or paint it white to match the Gundam X Maoh.
On the other hand is ∀ Gundam which seems to be the last entry in Bandai’s HG All Gundam Project. Can’t really say much about it except for the hopes that Bandai won’t take long to eventually release the HGCC Turn X unlike the Master Grade.
|Gundam Exia, a design that’s quickly getting the classic status thanks to its unique look without being too ‘out there’. A design that has also enabled Bandai to release multiple Hobby Online Shop exclusives. So there will most likely be two more copies of this kit needed — one for Gundam Exia Repair and another for Gundam Astraea.
Is it ‘Takemikazuchi’ or ‘Takemikaduchi’? Anyway, finally got this guy (or girl), the lead machine for Muv-Luv Alternative. Glad to have waited for its eventual 1/144 scale release instead of getting the Revoltech figure. On that note, Kotobukiya should make more of these 1/144 scale (or 1/144 sized) model kits aside from their non-scale 18cm stuff.
