BLOG: Today’s Robits – June 2014
|This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.
It has almost become a tradition (sort of) to start these loot posts with books. Because… why not? Anyway, Vertical’s still continuing on their great English adaptation of the Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN manga, now on it’s the sixth volume – "To War".
Still stuck on half of volume four though, why???
Volume seven will be coming out in September so that’s still a couple of months worth of reading before another one adds to the backlog.
|The MECHA CATALOGUE isn’t really a book blog so here now are the actual robits, starting with Tamashii Nations stuff.
Easily one of the most anticipated releases ever since they did GaoGaiGar is Genesic GaoGaiGar from the OVA sequel King of Braves GaoGaiGar FINAL. Being a first release, it also includes the pair of colored arm units for its Heaven and Hell attack.
|Next up are a couple of blue machines which are coincidentally on the same scale, so these two should go together well.
First the Rabidly Dog from Armored Trooper VOTOMS which was also piloted by Chirico Cuvie, so this could technically count as a lead machine. It probably appeared in the latter part of the series being considered as the most powerful armored trooper as of that time frame.
Then there’s all lovable Tachikoma, now in model kit form. This was originally purchased due to the Revoltech version which was out of stock back then but is ironically getting a reissue. That said, this kit will be a followed up by a Logicoma kit so it will stay.
|Closing this batch is, well… a Revoltech figure… an Evangelion one. Appearing in EVANGELION 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo is Evangelion 13 which can be considered as the spiritual upgrade of the Evangelion Test Type-01 thanks to its color scheme and other similarities.
This guy was also purchased at ToyCon 2014 at a great discounted price so that’s a definite plus.
With this figure at hand, all the fictional iterations and upgrades of the ‘EVA 01’ are now at the CATALOGUE, unless they decide to do another one in the fourth movie, which is quite likely as Evangelion 13 was trashed at the end if memory serves correctly.
