Still playing catch-up with a month’s worth of plastic purchase procrastination, here are the robits for February.

These first two items touch upon the feminine side of the mecha genre as both come from fiction with female protagonists — Aim for the Top! 2 Diebuster and Sakura Wars. That said, their similarities end there as their aesthetics hail from the opposite sides of the spectrum.

  • RIO:BONE | BUSTER MACHINE NO.7
  • VARIABLE ACTION | KOUBU [Sakura Custom]

Today's Robits - January 2014 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

… and there hasn’t been any posts as mentioned above since January, but that doesn’t that there aren’t any robits in the pipeline since then. They weren’t just posted thanks to that frequently aforementioned busy work schedule.

The first two are from Kotobukiya’s 1/144 scale line based on the Muv-Luv franchise. Haven’t assembled a Kotobukiya kit since that 1/144 Linebarrel kit, but that’s any indication, these two should be a good build.

  • 1/144 | SHIRANUI SECOND [Yuuya Bridges Custom]
  • 1/144 | Su-47E BERKUT

Today's Robits - December 2013 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

Finally got something to post ever since 2014 began… and it’s related to 2013! Anywho, the robits (and book) that came last December were all Gundam-centric. And could be easily divided as UC and non-UC stuff.

Starting off the UC stuff is the next installment of this ever-gorgeous thing Vertical Inc. is doing called Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN… DUH! This was just the push this collector needed to finish Vol.3 and it was so worth it. Definitely looking forward to reading this one.

  • Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN Vol.4 – Jaburo

Happy Holidays to everyone! And what better way to celebrate than to showcase the robits that came from the previous month! Yes.

So after hunting for quite some time, this collector has finally gotten these two thanks to AmiAmi’s Pre-Owned Items catalog. Probably due to their design and earlier release schedule, these lead machines from Fafner in the Azure were hard to come by.

  • ROBOT DAMASHII <Side FFN> | FAFNER MARK ELF
  • ROBOT DAMASHII <Side FFN> | FAFNER MARK SEIN

Today's Robits - October 2013 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.If you’re one of those looking for the RIOBOT Delphine 2nd Form figure (i.e. the first RIOBOT figure), chances are you’ve long realized that it has been long discontinued and demanding ridiculous prices in the after-market. Then AmiAmi recently opened its store for pre-owned items similar to Mandarake on a smaller scale. And the rest is as seen here.

Oh and there’s the 1/144 Valvrave I Hito model kit too, because it’s from Valvrave the Liberator — that’s enough reason to get the kit.

  • MECHANIC COLLECTION | RM-011 VALVRAVE I HITO

Today's Robits - September 2013 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

So September turned out to be one of those lull months for the hobby — and it was the kind of lull that the purchase wasn’t even a robit. But then again, getting something is much better than nothing.

Vertical Inc. still continues their excellent Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN hardbound releases with the third volume which basically covers the time when Amuro Ray encounters Ramba Ral and all shenanigans happen. Haven’t read the book at the moment though that would probably just take one sitting.

  • Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN Vol.3 – Ramba Ral

Today's Robits - August 2013 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

Now August isn’t usually a month with many robit purchases so this one comes as a surprise. First is Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann here which ends a five-year mission of completing all Gurren Lagann forms, and is the main reason of not getting the better versions of that machine.

The next two are technically no brainers as Iron Man is always welcomed here and Orion Pax is a great IDW design that really should be made into plastic. Glad that both are happening.

  • TRANSFORMERS Generations | ORION PAX
  • REVOLTECH YAMAGUCHI | SUPER GALAXY GURREN LAGANN
  • S.H.FIGUARTS | IRON MAN MARK-VI

No, this featurette will not turn to "Today’s Books" or something to that effect.

Vertical Inc. has released the second volume to their Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN hardcovers and the quality has been consistently top notch all throughout.

This second installment covers the White Base as they land in Zeon-controlled territory in America and their treacherous journey to reach the Earth Federation base in Jaburo.

More often than not, after quite a haul during May, things slow down the month after. And this year is no exception yet this particular figure is important in some sort.

Highly doubt that anyone would notice this, but there’s a placeholder between CATALOGUE Entries #4006 and #4008. So where’s #4007? Well, it just arrived and doing so completes all four Hammer Drones that appeared in Iron Man 2.

Today's Robotic Armor Suits This is Today’s Robits Robotic Armor Suits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions inspired by the awesomeness that is IRON MAN!

These are in anticipation for the upcoming S.H.Figuarts Iron Man Mark VI, and Figma Iron Man Mark VII releases, under the impression that these are going to be in scale with Hasbro’s 6" figures.

Hasbro released a wave of Iron Man 3 Marvel Legends figures as part of the Build-a-Figure Collection featuring Iron Monger. Iron Man 2 on the other hand had a special 6" line as the Marvel Legends line was on a hiatus back then.

A couple of years back, Kaiyodo decided to include Zoids in their Revoltech line. Was hoping that the assortment would increase but only this and the Geno Breaker was produced.

That said, this has got to be one of the biggest boxes that has ever graced a Today’s Robits post or the CATALOGUE for that matter. Though the size of the figure itself shows that the packaging was impractical and would be a total bummer for shipping.

Today's Robits - April 2013 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

So here are today’s ROBOT Damashii Gundams or those ‘Gundams that don’t have a proper 1/144 High Grade model’. Possible reasons?

Gundam Formula 91 – The HGUC line is still focused on Mobile Suit Gundam UC and thus, no HGUC Gundam Formula 91 in the foreseeable future.
Turn X – Bandai placed the HGFC and HGAW kits on hold, and there are still no HGAW kits. So what more of an HGCC Turn X?

Today's Robits - March 2013 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

Starting off this month’s robits are double copies of the HGUC Gundam Delta Kai… and there’s a somewhat valid explanation regarding this. As most Gundam modelers know, HGUC kits aren’t exactly the pinnacle of perfect transformation. More often than not, especially with the Zeta Gundam design lineage, this is achieved with additional parts.

That being said, the OC nature of this collector compels that instead of repeated part-swapping, one kit will be built permanently in MS mode while the other in Waverider mode, thus the two kits.

HobbyLink Japan held a crazy Black Friday sale last November where items were being sold for as low as ¥500. And after expiring their 60-day Private Warehouse period, these two robits were automatically shipped.

Coincidentally, these two were also consequent ROBOT Damashii releases at number 123 and 124 respectively.

And just to mention, another figure also arrived in February, though this post has that one covered.

yada-yada-yada!

  • Now why get another Dancouga figure when this does the job?

That was the question left in the second part of Today’s Robits – May 2012. And now here’s the answer.

As far as this collector is concerned, this is the only CATALOGUE-friendly figure line that contains both the original Dancouga and Dancouga Nova.

That said, CATALOGUE Entry #3004 will be designated to another robit to make room for these two. And maybe, Revoltech Dancouga will be designated much later on, for comparison with the GN-U DOU version.

Today's Robits - January 2013 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

Starting off the 2013 robits are these two "wears" or variations of the Gundam AGE-3, the Advanced Generation universe homage to the ZZ Gundam.

How about the Gundam AGE-3 Fortress? Haven’t bought that one but there’s something planned for that kit. Never really liked the color scheme of the Fortress so some research on the design revealed additional color schemes that were considered… Yeah, talking about something that’s not even in this list.

These haven’t arrived yet. Heck, they’re not even out of the HobbyLink Japan warehouse. Anyway, enclosed in red is next batch of robits that will be coming from HLJ.

An item here to be excited about is the Mobile Suit Gundam MS Encyclopedia 2013, which is essentially a catalog of all mobile suits that have appeared in various Gundam media. It covers animated productions, manga, side-stories, photo novels and many more.

It’s now on low stock at HLJ so get it while you still can.

It was the holidays so that’s a pretty legit way to have gotten more loot than usual. Speaking of the holidays, these first two came from the annual Christmas Toy Fair, a local convention.

Completing the protagonist suits in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 —Stardust Memory— is the HGUC Gundam GP03. So yeah, have to work on touching up GP01, GP01Fb and GP02A.

And we have more Iron Mongers to wreck havoc with this guy.

Today's Robits - October & November 2012) This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

2012 is coming to an end so there’s absolutely no reason to further delay this recollection of robits that came during October and November.

Starting things off is this custom-made figure that goes back to June during the annual ToyCon. Since the other available Metal Gear REX figures and models are quite huge, and totally outside the Collection Definition, then a custom figure would be the best choice of purchase.

The figure took almost three months to build but all the time spent on this is totally worth it as the quality speaks for itself.

November has started, so what better way to start the month than to show the robits that for September! Yeah… anyway, this particular purchase is a bit different.

  • GALAXIA BOTS | EARTH GAEA

This is from the original Chinese (that’s right, original) animation Galaxia. Those interested can watch the series on YouTube as Anh Hung Vu Tru, the Vietnamese dub, but the original English dialogue is still audible.

This also meant that the figure is subject to Chinese quality control, or the lack of it.

Today's Robits [2012.07] This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

Things in the hobby front have been pretty slow lately, with the July acquisitions amounting to these two and still none for this month — Life is winning against Hobby Life.

Anyway, the robits for July are:

  • TRANSFORMERS Generations | OPTIMUS PRIME (Fall of Cybertron)
  • FIGMA | DROSSEL (Juno XIV)

It always feels nice when items featured in a Plastic Crack post are eventually featured as acquisitions. Gives a sense of achievement in a geeky way.

Given the hefty loot last May, things took a lighter turn this June.

First is a 1/32 scale Proto Garland from Megazone 23 Part II.This doesn’t transform into maneuver craft mode due to its size but an interesting kit nonetheless.

To its right is Super Robot Chogokin Dai-Guard from the series bearing the same name where the logistics of operating a robot presents more problems than the enemies themselves.

  • HG 1/144 | AGE-2DB GUNDAM AGE-2 DOUBLE BULLET
  • DANBALL SENKI | LBX ELYSION

Incoming plamo backlog!

Finally got the RG Freedom Gundam, making the mandatory Real Grade purchases decrease to two. The red-blue color balance of HG Gundam AGE-2 Double Bullet makes an appealing aesthetic in contrast to the mostly blue Gundam AGE-2 Normal. And LBX Elysion is the 3rd machine of the series’ lead… better start building the first two.

A month ago, there was a promise… that April’s haul will be literally epic… and yes it is, not due to quantity.

The HG Gundam AGE-2 Normal purchase is already a no-brainer with this guy around. However, the second item isn’t as it marks the entrance of the Super Robot Chogokin line in the CATALOGUE with the The King of Braves GaoGaiGar — a robit perfectly fitting the "epic" adjective.
