BLOG: Today’s Robits – November & December 2014

Today's Robits - November-December 2014 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

It’s becoming quite a tradition to start these robit posts with stuff other than robits, so let’s go with that.

Aside from the usual awesomeness with every new Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN volume, the other item here came from Japan as a Christmas gift. Sold as an exclusive to the Akihabara branch of the Gundam Cafe is this cute piece of ceramic designed after Beargguy III from Gundam Build Fighters. LOL Teddy in Melancholy.

  • Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN Vol.8 – Operation Odessa
  • Gundam Cafe (Akihabara Exclusive) – Beargguy III Mug

BLOG: Today’s Robits – September & October 2014

Today's Robits - September & October 2014 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

Time to play catch up again on two months worth of loot thanks to some shenanigans that happened recently. In any case, here are the robits that arrived in the last couple of months.

And what better way to start things off? Than with a book of course! Vertical continues to have its quarterly releases of Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN and form what this collector has read or seen, things are really interesting. Too bad said collector has to catch up with the last three volumes or so.

  • Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN Vol.7 – Battle of Loum

BLOG: (Today’s) Tomorrow’s Robits – Iron Men

(Today's) Tomorrow's Robits - Iron Men This is Today’s Tomorrow’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions … yada-yada-yada IRON MAN!

Cleared up the Private Warehouse at HobbyLink Japan and look who’s left. In what seemed as bids to determine the better Japanese Iron Man manufacturer at the 6" (1/12) scale, Bandai and Max Factory released their figures (albeit different armors) almost at the same time.

Max Factory first announced their Figma Iron Man Mk.7 as a pseudo follow up to Bandai’s Iron Man Mk.6, which the latter countered with the S.H.Figuarts Iron Man Mk.42 from Iron Man 3.

That said, the Figma has a higher price tag and even has a more expensive special version available. On the other hand, the S.H.Figuarts comes with a sofa… nobody can top that!

BLOG: Today’s Robits – August 2014

Today's Robits - August 2014 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

What better way to close September than to feature robit acquisitions for the month of August, just because.

First in the least is this quite anticipated third-party kit of the RX-105 Xi Gundam which at the moment has only got a web-exclusive ROBOT Damashii release and an SD kit.

Despite being at 1/144 scale, it’s massive size warrants construction utilizing an internal frame, among other awesomeness contained in this very fancy packaging.

BLOG: Today’s Robits – July 2014

Today's Robits - July 2014 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s hobby loot.

Okay, while this month’s loot won’t have any books, it will have third-party Transformers. Yes, this collector hasn’t purchased an unlicensed Transformer figure/add-on kit until today, though this might just be the push that will lead to that rabbit hole.

It was also recommended that MakeToys’ Battle Tanker would work best with Takara Tomy’s version of Reveal The Shield Optimus Prime (#1004) — Laser Optimus Prime — thus the subsequent purchase.

  • BATTLE TANKER SERIES | BATTLE TANKER
  • TRANSFORMERS United | LASER OPTIMUS PRIME
