ABSTRACT

The TRANSFORMERS Reveal The Shield line marks the return of the rubsign gimmick that shows the character’s allegiance, much like the original Generation 1 figures. And though it’s known that Optimus Prime is an Autobot, that doesn’t stop Hasbro from creating the heroic leader under the said banner. The general design is a homage to Generation 2/Laser Optimus Prime, utilizing a racing truck as vehicle mode with detailed flame designs influenced by the live-action movies. Much like the original figure, this rendition retains the signature energy sword and the large shoulder armors that use clear plastic for maximum light-piping effects. As an additional detail, the side windows of the vehicle mode becomes a Matrix of Leadership as seen through the chest area in robot mode, though not removable.

This figure originally had the Reveal The Shield rubsign placed at the top part of the vehicle mode. However, for aesthetic purposes, it was replaced by a generic Autobot insignia from Reprolabels.
