It’s that time of the year again — where geeks of all ages, sizes, and what have you — gather annually at the San Diego Convention Center to basically geek out and empty their wallets… Companies from the toy and hobby industry also gather there, not only to sell loot, but to display their current and upcoming releases as well. This year’s Transformers displays mostly come from the two currently running product lines: Generations and Prime – Robots in Disguise. STARSCREAM (Generations – Deluxe) Initially appearing in the War For Cybertron game, it took Hasbro until the Fall Of Cybertron sequel to release a figure of everyone’s favorite loyal second-in-command. And with most Seeker molds, expect endless repaints of this guy.

SIDESWIPE (Generations – Deluxe)
Today is indeed a great time to become a Sideswipe fan as he’s been getting a lot love recently. Aside from his awesome G1 Masterpiece incarnation set to arrive in December 2012, his latest incarnation from the Fall Of Cybertron game will also get the plastic treatment in that same red color scheme that everyone knew him to have… **cough live-action movie Sideswipe cough**

ULTRA MAGNUS (Generations – Deluxe)
The Fall Of Cybertron Optimus Prime has been released as part of first wave of this new batch of Generations figures and as far as many collectors were concerned, they were underwhelmed by it. Whether it’s the actual design aesthetic or the fact that it’s smaller than your typical Deluxe, many seemed to pass up that mold. But that doesn’t stop Hasbro from releasing an Ultra Magnus recolor/retool though aside from the new weapon and head sculpt, it’s basically the same thing.

SOUNDBLASTER with BUZZSAW (Generations – Voyager) Unlike the previous Generations line where it only included Deluxe Class figures, this iteration of the line expands the line to other size classes. This gives Hasbro the chance to release more justifiable versions of a character or to simply allow for more gimmicks. For this particular figure, it’s both. Many have liked the Voyager Class Soundwave mold when it was announced, especially with the fact that it could contain Minicon discs in its chest compartment as analogue to the G1 cassette tapes. For the Soundblaster repaint, the figure will come with Buzzsaw, a yellow/black repaint of Laserbeak.

RUMBLE & RAVAGE (Generations – Legends)
(For this continuity, Rumble is Blue — RIBFIR) The 2013 Generations line further expands to the Legends Class figures and what better characters to be have in in this line than the other discs that can be inserted in either Soundwave or Soundblaster’s chest. It’s great that Hasbro will have individual releases of these figures rather than the easy options of bundling them with either Soundwave or Soundblaster. Each figure even comes with its own plastic case, complete with Decepticon logos.

And that’s just Generations… what about Prime?
